Focus on Your Wrist
Your timer doesn't need your iPhone in hand. Focus brings your sessions — and the whole rhythm of working with the Pomodoro technique — to Apple Watch, so a quick glance at your wrist tells you where the session stands, and your phone can stay wherever you left it.
The App on Your Wrist
The Focus app for Apple Watch is your productivity companion on the wrist: start a session, pause it, and see what's running without reaching for your phone.
On watches that support it, Double Tap works too — within the watch app and with the Session Finished notification. So when a session ends and your hands are full, a quick double tap is all it takes, even while you're carrying your coffee mug.
On Your Watch Face
Complications keep Focus a glance away, right on your watch face — the running timer, or a small piece of today's activity.
Timer
Your current session counts down right on the face, so the time left is always in view.
Today's Sessions
How many sessions you've completed today, at a glance.
Today's Work Time
Your focused time so far today, quietly adding up.
In the Smart Stack
With watchOS 10 or later, a Smart Stack widget shows your session's progress and active task at a glance.
- Turn the Digital Crown to show the Smart Stack.
- Touch and hold to edit the widgets.
- Scroll to Focus and tap to add it.
The Smart Stack can also surface Focus on its own when it's likely to be useful — in the morning, say, or when you arrive at work. The same widgets live on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac too — here's how to add a Focus widget.
Live Activities on Your Watch
With watchOS 11 or later, the Live Activity from your iPhone appears on your wrist as well — and it's interactive, so you can start or stop the timer with a tap.
It follows the style you picked on iPhone: in Focus settings, under Live Activities, choose a color and style, and decide whether breaks and your active task are shown. There are more glanceable options where that came from — here's how to see your timer at a glance.
Staying Notified
Session and break alerts can reach you on the wrist too, so the end of a session never slips by. If they aren't showing up, open the Watch app on your iPhone, go to Notifications, and make sure Focus is allowed — here's how to turn on notifications for your timer.
